Allahabad: After analysing the highest crowd density spots within the ongoing Kumbh Mela with the help of crowd analytics instrument right through Mauni Amvasya snan during which over 5 crore devotees took dip within the Sangam on Sunday, the Mela police has drafted a contemporary crowd management and safety plan for the final ‘shahi snan’ of Kumbh on the instance of Basant Panchami on February 10.
The Mela administration would deploy additional forces and volunteers at 5 recognized spots — Sangam noze, Kali Sadak, Akhara Marg, Ganga Prasar Kshetra and Parade — for better crowd management right through the ‘snan’, prone to be attended via over two crore devotees.

Additional DG (Allahabad zone) S N Sabat said, “A staff of 10 knowledge era (IT) experts reviewed some densely populated areas within the ongoing Kumbh and found that the density of devotees and pilgrims used to be the highest at Sangam noze — three.19 persons in keeping with square meter -- adopted via Kali Sadak, Peepe ka Pul, Akhara Marg, Ganga Prasar Kshetra and Parade.”


The experts took help of 452 high-definition cameras installed on the Integrated Control & Command Centre (ICCC) and crowd analytics instrument in arriving on the conclusion.


“After examining the information and figure, Mela police has chalked out a contemporary safety plan and further forces, together with two companies of para-military forces and 10 Inspector-rank cops could be deployed on the 5 locations,” he said adding, “additional forces have been referred to as in from different zonal districts.”


The Mela police had deployed over 35,000 police and para-military group of workers right through the Mauni Amavasya snan. However, witnessing the influx of devotees, an additional 2,000 group of workers have additionally been summoned for foolproof safety and crowd management, he added.
