Two criminals held for burglaries, vehicle thefts

PUNE: Two criminals were arrested at Mantri marketplace in Hadapsar on Thursday for a chain of burglaries and vehicle thefts over the past two months.

The two, dwelling within the pilgrim the city of Alandi, would attend “satsang” during the week and commit the thefts and burglaries all over weekends.


The duo stole six automobiles and valuables from as many as 10 houses over the past two months. They had deliberate to commit a couple of more offences for making a quick dollar, but the plan used to be foiled after a police team arrested them at Mantri marketplace following a tip-off.

“We questioned Sagar Dattatraya Bhalerao (21) from Manjri and Swapnil Namdeo Girme (24) from Hadapsar and recovered gold embellishes weighing 131g, 5 motorcycles, 10 smartphones, two LCD TVs, a digital camera and Rs 26,000 in money. He added, “Bhalerao and Girme were arrested through the Hadapsar police for the primary time in 2007 in 8 cases. Tambe said, “Investigations published that they were using stolen automobiles for accomplishing recce at focused places and committed crime all over night time time. “Bhange and his team members, Nitin Munde, Pratap Gaikwad Vinod Shivle and Akbar Shaikh, took the duo into custody when they were at Mantri market for promoting stolen gold embellishes. They failed to offer a proof as to how they got here in possession of the embellishes,” Tambe said.


“During questioning, they admitted to their involvement in a chain of crimes. Girme is also sought after in a case of making plans a dacoity which used to be registered at Hadapsar police in 2018. The suspects are illiterate and their folks sought after to rehabilitated them, but they refused to give up crime,” he added.
