3 stray cows found dead in Panchkula, 1 booked

PANCHKULA: Three stray cows had been found useless in Khark Mangoli village on Wednesday. Locals alleged that an unidentified individual poisoned the cows.


The district police, as of now, have registered a case underneath Haryana Gauvansh Sanrakshan and Gausamvardhan Act 2015. The cops are waiting for the postmortem report.


Investigation officer sub-inspector Mohan Lal of Sector 7 police post stated he, together with his crew, rushed to the spot after receiving the ideas. "Villagers alleged that an unidentified person poisoned the cows. Based on the allegations, we took the bodies of the cows to a vet mortuary in Chowki village. A team of doctors conducted postmortem, took samples and sent them to a laboratory in Madhuban to ascertain if the cattle were poisoned or not,"


Sources stated that all over the autopsy, doctors found plastic baggage in the stomach of the useless cows.


"A case under Section 3 of Haryana Gauvansh Sanrakshan and Gausamvardhan Act and Section 429 (mischief by killing or maiming cattle, etc.) of the Indian Penal Code has been registered at Sector 5 police station. We are waiting for the reports. Further action would be taken only then," the cop stated.
