MARGAO: Fatorda police on Wednesday booked an offence in opposition to P Kudchadkar, his wife, Archana, and son, Akhil, after they restrained an income-tax officer and her staff from carrying out investigation once they had come to their trade premises.
Police sources mentioned that the Kudchadkar family owns a furniture-cum-interior design showroom close to KTC bus stand, Margao. When the income-tax officer, Vidya Tanse, at the side of her staff of I-T personnel came to their premises on Wednesday in connection with the investigation right into a case, they have been allegedly restrained and abused via the accused.
Acting at the criticism lodged via Tanse, Fatorda police booked a case in opposition to the accused underneath Section 353 (assault or legal power to discourage public servant from discharge of his responsibility) of the Indian Penal Code. Akhil used to be arrested and later released on bail.
