CHENNAI: The ruling AIADMK believes in its ministers than the orators and film stars, after Jayalalithaa’s loss of life. It has nominated to the Election Commission 40 star campaigners, together with 26 ministers with chief minister Edappadi K Palaniswami and his deputy, O Panneerselvam, topping the checklist.
Eight former ministers also discovered place on the checklist, whilst six ministers, Vellamandi Natarajan, Nilofer Kafeel, V M Rajalakshmi, K Pandiarajan, G Baskaran and S Valarmathi had been not noted.
“During 2014 poll, the celebration had nominated 40 participants, together with our chief Amma and 3 ministers, the rest being celebration orators (15), film stars and different office-bearers. This time, the celebration high command depends on ministers, who're differently district secretaries,” stated a senior chief.
As in line with Representation of Peoples Act, 1951, the expenditure incurred through the star campaigners on account of travel through air or through some other means has been exempted from being handled as expenditure incurred or approved through a candidate.
