We will respond through votes, say flood victims of Cheruthoni

Idukki: Nearly 50 families, who stay at an old building of the KSEB in Cheruthoni after the devastating floods destroyed their properties seven months ago, still watch for the compensation promised via the state executive.
With another parliament election not far away, they've determined to provide a befitting reply to the state executive through their votes.

Puthenpurakal Benny Varghese (49) from Perumkala, who remains at the aid camp stated, “Our house used to be in part destroyed. Our church supplied six scents to construct a house. We expected the compensation before the declaration of Lok Sabha elections, however nothing happened. We will reply to the government’s stand through our votes.”

Beena P J a native of Kochupainavu near Cheruthoni stated, “Our house used to be in part destroyed right through the floods and so we shifted to the relaxation camp. Till now, we didn't get any financial help, together with the principle help Rs 10,000”.


Highrange Samrakshna Samithy general convenor Fr Sebastian Kochupurakal stated that the farming sector in Cheruthoni area used to be completely devastated within the August floods. “We want extra toughen from the government to revive the sphere,” he stated.


Gini Kochuparampil, a native of Thadiyampad, stated, “Our house used to be in part destroyed within the flood, however we didn’t obtain any compensation from the government.”


"We repaired our house a price of Rs three lakh. How do we cast vote for the LDF candidate?” asks Kochuparampil.
