Finally, six-coach Metro to zoom in from Friday

BENGALURU: The Bangalore Metro Rail Corporation Limited (BMRCL) has said that the much-awaited six-coach practice is all set to be inducted on Friday, June 22, 2018.

Namma Metro’s East-West hall (Purple Line between Baiyappanahalli to Mysuru Road) gets the primary Metro practice with six coaches, with the primary compartment being reserved for girls, as promised.


BMRCL managing director Mahendra Jain informed TOI, "We are hoping to get the final permission letter from the railway board, stating that we can operate a 6-coach train, at the revised speed limit on Monday. The formalities will take a few days, and we have targeted Friday launch."


To get started with, there will likely be one six-coach-train and extra such trains will likely be added to the fleet in phases, say BMRCL government. Six-coach-train has been the demand of commuters, who as of now are taking stuffed rides on the metro, particularly during top hours.
