Nagpur: The Maharashtra University of Health Sciences (MUHS) will determine Tobacco Cessation Centers (TCCs) in all 29 affiliated dental faculties from the upcoming consultation. The resolution has been taken following Central govt directives to test tobacco threat in India.
The centres will help recurring people who smoke and tobacco customers to surrender the habit. In Nagpur, Government Dental College and Hospital (GDCH) can have the TCC.
“As a part of the global mission of World Health Organization (WHO), the Dental Council of India (DCI) has decided to begin TCCs in all dental faculties within the country. In Maharashtra, all 29 dental faculties had been directed to establish and start the centres as consistent with the ideas of the health ministry,” stated MUHS registrar Dr KD Chavan.
